Larry Weinstein's witty yet moving documentary film traces the eccentric paths of 5 contrasting Mad about Mozart devotees: Wolfgang and his lover Nancy (aka Steph Waller and Lynette Erwin), David Cope & Emmy (his Mozart-composing software), number-obsessed grave-side pilgrim Konrad Rich, and the man who put Mozartballs into orbit, astronaut Franz Viehboeck. The program is ironic and often moving, as the film refuses to mock its subjects, but allows them to speak for themselves against a musical backdrop of Mozart's greatest music.
