Frank Zappa - Does Humour Belong in Music?

More Views

Zappa was a satirist with a wicked sense of humour and lyrics of questionable taste, but he wasalso one of the most prolific artists of his time, recording about 50 albums during his 40 years inmusic. Does Humour Belong In Music? is taken from a live recording of Zappa's planned final tour in1984 and was originally released on VHS in 1985. The DVD includes a number of Zappa's biggest tracks, both as a solo artist and with the Mothers of Invention, including Trouble Every Day, Zappa's oldest and most enduring hit from the first album with the mothers of invention - here itis given a harder more rocky edge while Hot-Plate Heaven at the Green Hotel received its firstlive recording. Other tracks that demand attention include the sexually explicit Dinah-Moe Humm, Dancing Fool (Zappa's answer to Hayes Theme From Shaft) and Tinsel Town Rebellion- with its humorous lyrics and solid musical accompaniment, this is one of Zappa's best songs from the 80's
