Humphries humorous and nostalgic journey continues with the bad-taste 1970s, full of lurid flares and technicolour suits and yawns before finally slipping into the 1980s, when Big Business worked hand-in-hand with venal politicians to sell our country to the world as being as totally modern, and as corrupt, as anywhere else… and boy, did they succeeded.

This is not a history for the faint-hearted. Barry Humphries' scathing wit, occasionally tinged by nostalgic affection, is more often darkly mordant with just enough sugar-coating to help us digest these unpalatable home-truths.

Featuring special appearances from Dame Edna Everage, our cultural ambassador Sir Les Patterson, and a deceased but still-vocal visitor Sandy Stone, Flashbacks is an astute document of Australian history complimented, and at times embarrassed by hysterical and historical video and film clips from each decade.
